The Old City Center of Rome

In the old city center of Rome is the most visited part of Italy, if not the whole world.  In the old city center are found the historical Seven Hills of Rome, namely: Capitoline, Viminal, Quirinal, Palatine, Esquiline, Caelian, and Aventine.  The old city center also has some 300 hotels, and it houses many of the Italian government offices, including the presidential residence.

The Vatican in Rome

The Vatican City, the heart of the Roman Catholic Church, is also located in Rome.  In the Vatican City are found not just Vatican Palace but also St. Peter’s Square and St. Peter’s Basilica.  The world-famous Sistine Chapel is also located in the Vatican.
