Palio of Rome

A mega- tournament, passionately promoted by mayor Walter Veltroni, it involves four teams for each of the 94 neighbourhoods in Rome, for a total of 376 teams playing in 1608 matches. The games will be played in the 35 soccer fields, with two halves of 25 minutes each and an interval of 5 minutes. The championship will last six months, and will consist of a first phase (11/8 - 11/22) with 94 first halves and four teams each, and a second phase with the first two teams of every round, plus the twelve best third places.
